Dryer System Controls

Improve production throughput, product quality and operating efficiency with advanced process controls, evaporation and humidity control, energy performance monitoring and product tracking.

Control ScreenA variety of control packages are available to enhance the performance and efficiency of Aeroglide ovens, dryers, coolers and nut roasters. These include basic burner supervisory panels, simple push-button relay panels, PLC panels and PC based controls. The control system is based upon operational requirements and customer preference.

Aeroglide provides its automation system on a wide variety of hardware and software platforms to allow integration with existing plant wide operating systems.

Improved Product Quality

  • The automation system will control product moisture content and reduce product moisture variability through an Evaporation Control System. The system measures key process variables and models these measurements against standard design conditions.  The system then manipulates process conditions to account for deviations from design.  The reduction in the variability of the moisture content of the product allows the moisture to be controlled closer to product quality parameters which will lead to a superior product.

Energy Savings

  • The advanced control functions will also reduce operating costs by monitoring and optimizing thermal equipment operating conditions. For example, Humidity Control ensures exhaust levels are not excessive based on the evaporation load. A constant humidity will also provide more uniform processing conditions and lead to more uniform product moisture levels.
  • Energy Performance shows operating efficiency of the equipment. Energy data is displayed on an operator interface screen. The system sounds a warning alarm when efficiency goes outside of design ranges.  Operators may then take corrective action to reach optimal efficiency.

Equipment Utilization

  • Product Tracking is the method of tracking the presence of product and its location in the dryer. Tracking is used in the automatic activation of evaporation temperature or moisture control, product change-over, and activating energy saving modes.
